Health gaps: an overview and critical appraisal

چکیده
Chapter 1.2 defined two major families of summary measures of population health (SMPH): health expectancies and health gaps. In this chapter, we review the concept of health gaps, present an overview of the key conceptual and methodological issues around the construction of health gaps, and compare different types of health gaps against the desirable criteria for summary measures of population health proposed by Murray et al. in chapter 1.2.
